The wisest action would be to steer oneself clear from such sticky situations and refrain from getting unduly involved, adopting the stance: ‘it’s your life, your prerogative, your choice …’ ; for the simple reason that in such cases, as is mostly seen, once the needs are met – or whatever the outcome –  the ‘seeker’ changes colours and the ‘supporter’ is ditched, even harmed, particularly if things go against the ‘seeker’s’ wishes.
